AEM Forms Designer scripts can provide runtime debugging feedback through an Acrobat alert or message box, and JavaScript can write diagnostic text and variable values to Acrobat’s JavaScript Console using console.println(). Adobe documents the console method specifically for debugging forms and the alert method for debugging JavaScript.

In XFA form templates, the h attribute/property represents an object’s height. Setting the resolved field or subform node’s h value to a measurement expressed in inches sets the required height programmatically. Adobe’s XFA API identifies H as the h attribute atom and documents height as the value of the h attribute.

XSD schema-based Adaptive Forms are preferable to XFA/XDP-based forms when optimizing large-form loading, because XDP-based forms retain XFA constructs such as scripts, events, properties, and validations that add runtime overhead. Adobe specifically recommends XSD schema-based Adaptive Forms over XFA-based Adaptive Forms for large forms where loading performance is important.

AEM Adaptive Forms requires a JSON Schema filename to end in .schema.json for the schema to be recognized and available for selection. A valid JSON document without that required extension is not identified as a JSON schema.

A PDF Form with a Signature Field supports certificate-based digital signatures, including signatures made with a CAC card. Scribble signatures are captured as handwritten signature images and do not provide the certificate-based digital-signature capability required here.
