In Splunk dashboards, drilldown is an interactivity feature that, once enabled for a visualization, responds to a user selecting a data point (such as a bar, row, or map region) by generating a secondary search based on the value that was clicked and opening the Search page displaying the results of that search; by default this drilldown action opens the resulting search in a new browser tab/window rather than simply refreshing the existing panel or refreshing every panel on the dashboard.
