Which protocol signals the inner label for a Layer 2 VPN service?
Targeted LDP (T-LDP) establishes a targeted session between PE routers and advertises the Layer 2 VPN/virtual-circuit label used as the inner service label. RSVP or LDP may provide the outer transport label for the MPLS path, but they do not replace T-LDP for this Layer 2 service-label signaling.
