QuestionQ28

Migrate servers and workloads

You have three servers—Server1, Server2, and Server3—running Windows Server with the Hyper-V server role installed. Server1 hosts an Azure Migrate appliance named Migrate1.

You plan to migrate virtual machines to Azure.

You need to ensure that new virtual machines created on Server1, Server2, and Server3 become available in Azure Migrate.

What should you do?

Explanation

For Hyper-V discovery, the Azure Migrate appliance must be configured with each Hyper-V host or cluster as a discovery source, using its IP address or FQDN and appropriate credentials. The appliance then continuously discovers the virtual machines on those hosts, including newly created VMs.
