The Azure Virtual Desktop Experience Estimator lets you input a client location and returns the estimated round-trip time (RTT) to each available Azure region, highlighting the region with the lowest latency. This makes it the appropriate tool for selecting the optimal region for a host pool based on end-user network latency, since a lower RTT correlates with a better remote desktop user experience (generally under 100 ms is ideal). Azure Traffic Manager is for routing traffic across deployed endpoints, Azure Monitor for Azure Virtual Desktop is for monitoring an already-deployed environment's performance and health, and Azure Advisor gives general optimization recommendations for existing resources — none of these are designed to estimate regional latency prior to deployment.
