What is the default time-to-live (TTL) value for an EBGP packet?
eBGP uses a default IP TTL of 1 because external peers are normally expected to be directly connected. A higher TTL must be explicitly configured for multihop eBGP; TTL security is a separate feature that can instead use an initial TTL of 255.
