In Asset Visibility mode, the Mist AP's vBLE antenna array functions as a receiver rather than a transmitter, listening for BLE chirps broadcast by asset tags so the tags can be located and tracked on the network. This is distinct from the AP's vBLE transmit mode, which is used to send BLE signals to mobile devices running the Mist location SDK for indoor positioning and wayfinding. Because Asset Visibility mode is about locating tags (not communicating with SDK-enabled phones), the antenna operates in receive mode and captures chirps from BLE tags.

While a WLAN template can be applied to an organization, site, site group, or device profile, that scope of application is separate from the template's internal configuration elements, and radio/RF settings are managed through a distinct RF template rather than inside the WLAN template.

A Marvis VNA subscription provides AI-generated responses that summarize relevant Juniper Mist documentation and gives access to Marvis from the ticket-creation form to troubleshoot affected sites, devices, and clients before submitting the ticket.

Juniper Mist regional clouds isolate accounts and organizations by cloud instance. A user account created in a regional cloud is local to that cloud, and organizations in another cloud cannot be accessed using that regional account. Managing organizations across regional clouds requires separate accounts or an explicitly configured global account.

EAP-TLS is the certificate-based 802.1X method for secure user authentication. Asymmetry Uplink is a classifier under the Wireless Coverage SLE. It tracks the user minutes during which a client experiences poor coverage caused by a mismatch in transmit power between the access point and the client device. Because APs typically transmit at higher power than client devices, if the AP's power is set too high relative to the client, the AP may not be able to hear the client's weaker uplink signal, even though the client can hear the AP clearly on the downlink. This power asymmetry situation is classified as a coverage problem, since it results in the client experiencing an effective coverage hole for reliable two-way communication despite seemingly adequate downlink signal strength.

Virtual Bluetooth Low Energy (vBLE) enables Mist access points to transmit BLE signals used for mobile-app wayfinding, location services, and proximity-based engagement. Juniper documentation specifically directs administrators to enable vBLE Engagement for these services.
