SmartEncrypt encrypts stored data to protect it from unauthorized access and leakage. SmartErase securely erases disk data so that residual information cannot be recovered and disclosed. SmartContainer is for embedded container/application functions, and SmartTier manages placement of hot and cold data across storage tiers.

OceanStor Dorado deduplication uses weak-hash fingerprints to locate possible duplicate blocks and validates matches through byte-by-byte comparison, which prevents incorrect deduplication from hash collisions.

OceanStor Pacific provides end-to-end reliability assurance at the I/O, system, and data-center levels. Its node-failure tolerance supports system reliability, but node level is not stated as a separate reliability dimension.

OceanStor Dorado HyperReplication for NAS supports serial (cascading), parallel, and one-to-many multi-data-center topologies. NAS HyperReplication is asynchronous; synchronous NAS replication is implemented with HyperMetro. Huawei’s Multi-DC documentation explicitly includes cascading and parallel file-replication configurations.

HyperReplication provides remote replication for active-passive disaster recovery and supports heterogeneous asynchronous replication between OceanStor Dorado and OceanStor systems. OceanStor 18510 and OceanStor 5510 are Huawei HyperReplication-supported OceanStor models, while OceanStor Dorado 18000 V6 and OceanStor Dorado 5000 V6 are supported Dorado V6 models. Each can therefore be used as the DR storage when the required software-version and interoperability conditions are met.
