When the production storage backing FusionCompute VMs is Huawei's scale-out (distributed) block storage, such as FusionStorage Block, eBackup's LAN-Based transport mode is not applicable to that storage architecture, because the LAN-Based flow relies on filesystem/virtualization-layer mechanisms that scale-out block storage does not expose in the same way. Instead, backup and restoration in that configuration are carried out over the LAN-Free (SAN/storage-network) transport, which is the mode FusionStorage's internal snapshot mechanism is built to use. Because LAN-Free rather than LAN-Based is the supported path in this scenario, the claim that only LAN-Based transport is supported is incorrect.
