QuestionQ1

Network services and applications

Which of the following capabilities does IVS provide?

Choose four
  • A Head counting
  • B Alarm linkage
  • C Abnormal behavior detection
  • D Automatic alarm reporting
Explanation

Intelligent video surveillance supports video-analytics functions such as people counting and abnormal-behavior detection, and it can associate detected events with alarm actions and automatically report alarm events.

QuestionQ2

Data communication and network basics

Which of the following media does not need a repeater to transmit video and control signals over long distances (dozens of kilometers)?

  • A Coaxial cable
  • B Optical fiber
  • C Power cable
  • D Twisted pair
Explanation

Optical fiber provides very low signal attenuation and high bandwidth, allowing video and control signals to travel dozens of kilometers without a repeater in typical installations.

QuestionQ3

Network services and applications

Which statements correctly describe the differences between a digital video recorder (DVR) and a network video recorder (NVR)?

Choose three
  • A The number of cameras that can connect to a DVR or NVR varies depending on the DVR or NVR specifications.
  • B DVRs connect to analog cameras, and NVRs connect to network cameras.
  • C Both DVRs and NVRs store video signals.
  • D Both DVRs and NVRs need encode video signals for storage.
Explanation

DVR camera capacity and NVR camera capacity depend on the recorder model and its specifications. DVR systems conventionally use analog cameras and convert the incoming analog footage to digital form for recording and storage. NVR systems use IP cameras, which encode video at the camera; the NVR receives, records, and stores that digital footage. Thus, both types store video, but only the DVR must encode the analog input for storage.

QuestionQ4

Data communication and network basics

Which statements correctly describe the relationship between a lens and depth of field (DoF)?

Choose two
  • A Long-focus lens has a small DoF.
  • B Long-focus lens has a large DoF.
  • C Wide-angle lens has a large DoF.
  • D Wide-angle lens has a small DoF.
Explanation

Long-focus lenses generally produce a smaller, shallower depth of field, whereas wide-angle lenses generally produce a larger, deeper depth of field under comparable shooting conditions.

QuestionQ5

Data communication and network basics

A larger CMOS size signifies better photosensitive performance.

  • A TRUE
  • B FALSE
Explanation

A larger CMOS image sensor has more area to collect incoming light, generally improving light sensitivity and low-light imaging performance when comparable technology and conditions are used.
