A customer-managed vCenter requires external DNS and an appropriate separately supplied vCenter license, because the vCenter license included with VxRail cannot be transferred to an instance outside the VxRail cluster. VxRail Lifecycle Management does not upgrade customer-managed vCenter servers, so the customer follows its own procedures for vCenter software upgrades.
