The DD6410 is built on an extended-depth 2U chassis measuring 17.6 in wide by 32.9 in (about 835 mm) deep to house its internal drive bays, and that extra length is why Dell's site-preparation guidance directs it into a deep rack, where there is sufficient clearance behind the chassis for rails, cabling, and power distribution. By contrast, the DD9410, DD9910, and DD9910F controllers all share a shorter 17.1 in x 28.5 in (about 724 mm) 2U chassis that installs in standard-depth racks.
