QuestionQ849

IP Connectivity

Refer to the exhibit. The SW1 and SW2 Gi0/0 ports have already been configured. An engineer has these requirements:

  • Allow all PCs to communicate with one another at Layer 3.
  • Configure untagged traffic to use VLAN 5.
  • Disable VLAN 1 from being used.

Which configuration set meets these requirements?

Explanation

The correct configuration must make the SW1–SW2 link and the SW1–R1 link trunks, allow the needed VLANs end to end for inter-VLAN routing, and set the native VLAN to 5 so untagged frames are placed in VLAN 5 instead of the default VLAN 1. VLAN 1 is prevented from being used by excluding it from the trunk allowed list and by changing the native VLAN from 1 to 5. The host-facing port for the PC in VLAN 7 must remain an access port assigned to VLAN 7. Option C is the only set that matches all of those requirements.
