FlexConnect mode is intended for remote or branch deployments where an access point may lose its connection to the Cisco Wireless LAN Controller. In that condition, the AP can continue providing local switching and client access based on its FlexConnect configuration. Local mode relies on the controller, mesh mode is for mesh networking roles, and sniffer mode does not provide client access service.
