QuestionQ1045

Network Fundamentals

Drag and drop the cloud-computing components onto the correct descriptions.

Drag & Drop
broad network access
measured service
on-demand self-service
rapid elasticity
resource pooling
The consumer can choose when to start or stop using the service.
The provider can bill the consumer in accordance with the level of usage.
The provider allocates CPU, memory, and disk from its shared compute resources to multiple customers.
The resource pool can expand quickly to meet demand.
The service is available from many types of devices and networks.
Explanation

Per NIST SP 800-145, the five essential cloud characteristics are on-demand self-service, broad network access, resource pooling, rapid elasticity, and measured service. On-demand self-service means a consumer can provision or stop capabilities without human interaction. Measured service means usage is metered for control and billing. Resource pooling means provider resources are shared among multiple tenants. Rapid elasticity means capacity can scale out and in quickly. Broad network access means services are available over the network through standard mechanisms from heterogeneous client platforms.
