For the deployment model tested here, a Supervisor’s topology is established at deployment time. An existing single-zone Supervisor cannot be converted in place to a multi-zone Supervisor by adding vSphere Zones; high availability requires deploying a new multi-zone Supervisor. The current vSphere API’s zone-binding operation was introduced in vSphere API 9.0 and does not change the constraint applicable to this item’s earlier deployment model.
