A project sponsor has requested a summary of every project they sponsor that was completed during the past year. The sponsor wants the information grouped by the month in which each project was completed.

What steps should the project manager take to create this view?

  • A Visit the Reports page and create a Project report. In the filter, update the actual completion date value to “past year” and update the Project Sponsor ID field to the project sponsor’s name. In the grouping tab, add a grouping for the actual completion date. In the Group Dates by field, select “month.”
  • B Visit the Reports page and create a Project Sponsor report. In the filter, update the actual completion date value with custom dates for the past year and update the Project Sponsor ID field to the project sponsor’s name. In the grouping tab, add a grouping for the planned completion date. In the Group Dates by fields, select “month of year.”
  • C Visit the Dashboards page and create a Project report. In the filter, update the actual completion date value to “past year” and update the Project Sponsor ID field to the project sponsor’s name. In the grouping tab, add a grouping for the actual completion date. In the Group Dates by field, select “month of year.”
Explanation

A Project report can filter records to the selected sponsor and an Actual Completion Date in the past year. Grouping the Actual Completion Date by month organizes the completed projects according to the month in which completion occurred. Actual Completion Date represents when the project was completed, whereas Planned Completion Date does not satisfy an actual-completion requirement. Adobe Workfront reports use filters to restrict displayed records and groupings to organize report results.
