UiPath's official guidance on using general fields states that the highlighted span for a general field must cover the entire word (or several words) it refers to, rather than only part of a word, and should not include trailing spaces. This gives the model clean, consistent boundaries to learn from. The documentation also warns against related pitfalls: don't split words when labeling, don't split field values across paragraphs, and when reviewing a paragraph, review and confirm all applicable general fields within it (not just a subset), since leaving some fields unconfirmed can incorrectly teach the model that they don't apply.
