In Documentum xCP Studio, the Taxonomy Manager enforces a hierarchical classification structure: Taxonomy is the root, under which Groups are created, under which Categories are created, under which Document Types are finally created. To use all organization levels when creating a new Document Type, the designer must first access the Taxonomy Manager and select the Taxonomy, then build downward by creating a Group, then a Category within that Group, and finally the Document Type within that Category. This top-down construction ensures the new Document Type inherits and is properly nested within the full Group-Category taxonomy path.
