QuestionQ7

VerifiedSmart Contracts

How do chaincode, transaction, and block events differ?

Explanation

Chaincode events are application-defined notifications that smart-contract code must emit explicitly. Transaction and block events are produced by peers when ledger transactions and blocks are committed, so applications can subscribe to them without programming their emission in the smart contract. The Fabric documentation distinguishes peer-generated block and transaction-status information from chaincode events produced during chaincode execution.
