Which VPN protocol produces the greatest overhead?
IPsec NAT Traversal carries IPsec ESP inside UDP and adds a non-IKE marker, on top of the normal IPsec encapsulation. This additional encapsulation increases packet overhead relative to IPsec without NAT Traversal and the other listed protocols.
