NIST SP 800-42, Guideline on Network Security Testing, provides guidance on testing network security vulnerabilities and policy implementation, including testing requirements, techniques, and tools. The publication was later withdrawn and superseded by SP 800-115, but SP 800-42 is the document identified by this title.
