Privacy is concerned with an individual's control over their personal data, including how it is collected, used, and disclosed. Using or sharing data for a purpose beyond what the individual consented to — such as sharing data created for one specific purpose without their permission — is a violation of privacy principles (e.g., purpose limitation and consent requirements found in privacy frameworks like GDPR). This differs from integrity, which involves unauthorized modification of data, and security, which involves protecting data from unauthorized access or breaches.
