QuestionQ1

Installation and Upgrade

In earlier releases, which Directory Server account — now referred to as the System User — was kept in the EAR file up through Content Platform Engine v5.5.0, and beginning with Content Platform Engine v5.5.1 is instead stored in the GCD (Global Configuration Database)?

  • A Content Platform Engine Service User
  • B GCD Administrator
  • C Content Platform Engine application server installation administrator
  • D Content Platform Engine bootstrap account
Explanation

This account is the Content Platform Engine bootstrap account (historically ce_bootstrap_admin / cpe_bootstrap_admin), which CPE uses to connect to the application server, access its JNDI tree, and reach the GCD data sources during startup. Through v5.5.0 its credentials resided in the CEMPBoot.properties file packaged inside the Content Platform Engine EAR file. As of v5.5.1, IBM eliminated this EAR-based bootstrap dependency, renaming the account the System User and relocating its configuration into the GCD, where its password can be managed directly through the Administration Console for Content Platform Engine (ACCE) rather than by editing and redeploying the EAR.
