The HPE Alletra Storage MP X10000 is an object storage platform intended for large-scale unstructured data across distributed sites. Its native replication capability, unlike synchronous block-level replication used in transactional storage arrays, is designed to operate asynchronously to accommodate real-world WAN conditions between sites. HPE positions this replication's RPO as dependent on the WAN latency between replication endpoints, spanning a range of approximately 10 to 150 milliseconds, rather than guaranteeing a fixed sub-5-millisecond synchronous RPO or providing no RPO guarantee at all.
