HPE Alletra dHCI requires at least VMware vSphere Standard for deployment. Its automated One-Click update workflow uses VMware Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS) to migrate virtual machines while hosts are updated, and DRS is included with vSphere Enterprise Plus. HPE’s current documentation also notes that newer Array OS versions can perform One-Click Updates with manual VM migration when DRS is unavailable.
