vSAN OSA uses separate cache and capacity tiers and supports a broad range of certified SATA, SAS, and NVMe devices. It is appropriate for less demanding workloads that do not require the performance advantages of an NVMe-optimized vSAN ESA deployment. ESA, by contrast, is single-tier and eliminates the cache tier.
