vSAN sizing must include capacity reserved for internal operations and, when enabled, recovery from a host failure. Operations Reserve and Host Rebuild Reserve are reserved-capacity settings applicable to both vSAN ESA and the original storage architecture; ESA does not use separate cache and capacity tiers.
