FortiManager creates revision-history entries for install and auto-update operations. An install pushes the managed configuration to the FortiGate, while an auto-update retrieves changes made directly on the FortiGate. Device-database edits are stored in the device database rather than the Revision History repository, and a revert loads an existing revision into that database; neither action alone creates a new revision-history entry.
