Smart card authentication, domain pass-through, and pass-through from NetScaler Gateway use an already established or passwordless user identity and therefore require this trust. HTTP Basic supplies Active Directory username-and-password credentials, and Smart Access is an authorization/access-policy capability rather than such an authentication flow.
