QuestionQ237

Service Design

Drag the multicast protocols on the left to the matching design situations on the right. Not every option is used.

Drag & Drop
PIM-SM, SSM, BIDIR
PIM-DM, PIM-SM, SSM, BIDIR
IGMP
MSDP
MP-BGP
MLD
IPv4
IPv6
Explanation

IGMP manages IPv4 multicast group membership between hosts and routers, and MLD provides the corresponding IPv6 function. PIM is used between multicast routers; IPv4 supports dense mode, sparse mode, SSM, and bidirectional PIM, while IPv6 uses sparse mode, SSM, and bidirectional PIM. MSDP shares active multicast-source information between multicast domains. MP-BGP is not the protocol used for the listed functions.
